Coast

Saw the
Desert evening sky
Orange-Pink
Burning my eyes,
I just wanted
to turn
the car
around,
Go back
to the Blue-Grey
Coast
Where I always
find you,
Taste the
Sweet-Salt
on your
skin.

Bones

So heavy, so heavy,
So full
inside this
Cage of Bone
Air escapes
the window
gives no relief
Warm-heavy-heat
Inside-outside
of me
Fill that space
I can't see.

Red

Wine on my lips
Red Stain
and your name
is the only one
I will ever
say again

The Sun

The Sun
You lay everything bare,

And bare, I do not want to be.

Foghorns

Foghorns
Mournful at night,
that's all I hear
in my sleep
Memories of my father,
at-sea-so-lost-at-sea,
in my midst,
at sea,
now, my heart
drowning like stone

Sea

Where is the sea when I need to look upon her?
Where does she go when she hides from me?
Water, I need to feel flow,
Salt, in the air I must taste
Why are you so far from me when I have weight to give you, substance that must drown?

I need sea air, for I
Cannot breathe,
So stifled by these mountains that rest upon me

Something

Something delicate
Tie it
Around
My finger
I'll be
Yours
Forever

Drums

Drums
Your Fingers
Drumming
So long, worked so hard,
Bones so hard
Slapping
Lightly
Against the tiny bones
Of my back
Feel it move through
Like leaves falling
On water

Poppies

Red Poppies
Red Poppies
Paper thin
Whispering the names of
Those
In your Roots

Away

Away, away,
The ground feels like
Thin glass
Beneath me,
But I walk on
'til you get Home
Keep Walkin' 'til you get Home-Safe
Every gentle step,
A prayer
Come Home my dear,
Come Home
